Hyaluronic Acid
collagen_proteinAlso known as: Hyaluronan, Sodium Hyaluronate, HA
About
Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan that retains up to 1,000x its weight in water, supporting dermal hydration. Oral supplementation increases circulating hyaluronic acid fragments that may stimulate fibroblast HA synthesis and upregulate moisture-retention in the stratum corneum. A 2017 meta-analysis found oral HA (120-240 mg/day) significantly improved skin moisture and reduced transepidermal water loss.
