Collagen

The most abundant protein in the body, supporting skin, hair, joints, and connective tissue.

Collagen is the most abundant structural protein in the human body, comprising about 30% of total protein. It provides structural support to skin, hair, nails, bones, tendons, and joints. Supplemental collagen (typically hydrolyzed collagen peptides from bovine or marine sources) is broken down into amino acids and small peptides during digestion. Clinical trials suggest that collagen supplementation may improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and support joint health, though evidence for hair growth benefits specifically is limited. Types I and III are most relevant for skin and hair.
