Certificate of Analysis

A document verifying a supplement batch's tested potency, purity, and contaminant levels.

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is an official document issued by a testing laboratory that reports the results of quality testing performed on a specific batch of a dietary supplement. A comprehensive COA includes identity confirmation (is the ingredient what it claims to be?), potency verification (does it contain the labeled amount?), purity testing (absence of contaminants), and microbial testing (absence of harmful bacteria and molds). Reputable supplement companies make batch-specific COAs available to consumers upon request or on their website. The testing laboratory should be ISO 17025 accredited for the analyses performed.
